The story behind LOESS.

We began the project right from the terroir, acquiring six select vineyards in Roa, Burgos. Our mission was to find the right combination of vineyards, soils, and climate to express the distinctive character of Ribera del Duero.

In 2004, after years of hard work, we finally reached our goal of finding exceptional grapes in Ribera del Duero, so we began our journey by elaborating red wines using the variety Tempranillo, also known as Tinta del Pais. We were so pleased with the result of our red wines that we decided to expand our collection and include stunning white wines using the variety Verdejo  from the region of  Rueda, known for its great white grape varietals.

Capturing the unique characteristics of their terroir and playing up subtle aromas and flavors, we were able to create crisp and delicious wines with originality and character.

Taste the terroir.

LOESS is a wine named after a type of delicate soil. Loess is known as a wind-driven geological sedimentary material; the soils are fertile, deep, and optimal for viticulture. The grapes used to make LOESS come from vineyards in an area full of incredible terroirs that are particularly good for growing grapes.

Our grapes are grown in soils classified as ``Excellent`` in the zoning carried out by Technical University of Madrid (UPM) for the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin Regulatory Council (Consejo Regulador de la Denominación de Origen Ribera del Duero). The vineyards, planted in 1998, are located in Roa (Burgos) and cover an area of 27.62 hectares.
